According to Breitbart, former President Trump has a significantly higher favorable rating than Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in a recent Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll.
The study included a list of high-profile political leaders and showed Trump to have the highest favorability rating, at 46 percent.
This is more than any other figure on the list, including President Joe Biden, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), and others.
McConnell’s favorable ratings are at the lowest end of the list, with a 25% favorable rating, 21 points worse than Trump’s.
Furthermore, Trump has a 47 percent unfavorable rating, giving him a net negative rating of -1. However, half, or 50%, have a poor opinion of McConnell, giving him one of the greatest net negative approval ratings on the list at -25.
Only Russian President Vladimir Putin had a net unfavorable rating that was worse than anyone else on the list.
The only high-profile personalities to come close to matching Trump’s positive rating were Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Elon Musk, who both had a 45 percent favorable rating. They both have a net favorable rating of +14 and +8, respectively.
The survey was conducted among 1,851 registered voters between December 14 and 16, 2022.
Trump has not been shy about his feelings on McConnell, telling Glenn Beck in November that Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) “would be much better” as GOP leader than the 80-year-old politician:
“I think he’s under a lot of pressure,” Trump explained. “I believe Rick Scott would be a far superior choice to McConnell.”
Meanwhile, McConnell has attacked Trump. McConnell declared that anybody who interacts with persons who espouse anti-Semitic or white supremacist beliefs is “unlikely” to be elected president.
In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Trump completely condemned Fuentes.
McConnell is also putting the blame on Trump, saying that the lack of “quality candidates” in the midterm elections is partly because of him.
“Our ability to control primary outcomes was quite limited in ’22 because the former president’s support proved to be very decisive in these primaries,” said McConnell.
He continued, “My view was to do the best you could with the cards you’re dealt.”
