Gun Owners Group Gives Americans An Urgent Warning

This week, Gun Owners of America (GOA) issued a warning that the Biden Administration is preparing to use unilateral action to enact universal criminal background checks.

Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) urged the Biden Administration to take action in accordance with the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act to “issue and put into effective” tighter rules on gun sales on the exact same day that GOA issued its warning.

Blumenthal’s call for executive action on gun regulation was reported by Breitbart News, which stated that it would require changing the definition of what or who qualifies as a gun dealer.

In regard to the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) negotiated with Democrats, this definition modification would be implemented, ushering in a broader requirement for criminal background checks on gun transactions.

GOA stated in a news statement issued to Breitbart News that they already have plans to file a lawsuit opposing the executive order requiring universal background checks, but they added that Congress also has to take action:

“Congress must abolish the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which resulted from a deal with the Biden Administration which Republicans NEVER should’ve reached, while Gun Owners of America defends the Second Amendment through the courts. America has not gotten safer, it has been utterly militarized, and gun owners are getting nothing. Republican repentance for this sin and the removal of Cornyn-Murphy are both necessary.”

“Along with GOA members, Congress must take part in the regulation process and express its disapproval of backdoor nationwide background registration checks throughout the public comment and notice period. Congress must also consider a joint resolution of disapproval in order to overturn this illegal infringement after receiving comments during the proposed rule process.”

Democrats have always advocated for universal background checks because they are sneaky and result in further gun laws.

In particular, since they cannot be enforced without a gun registry, universal background checks result in one.
