Kamala Says Trump’s Name 26 Times During CNN Town Hall

Since Kamala Harris stepped up as Joe Biden’s successor in the race, she’s been notably vague about any concrete policies she’d implement if she were to win. Instead of outlining clear goals, her campaign strategy seems laser-focused on one thing: attacking her opponent, Donald Trump.

Harris has also been dodging media appearances wherever possible. On the rare occasion a journalist does get to ask her a question, she usually responds by weaving her answer into yet another critique of Trump, barely addressing the topic at hand.

Wednesday night’s CNN Town Hall with Anderson Cooper was a prime example. In the 75-minute event, Harris managed to mention Trump’s name 26 times, while Cooper and the audience added his name 43 more. That’s 69 Trump mentions in just over an hour. It’s like they just can’t get him out of their heads.

When Cooper asked her about tackling corporate price gouging, Harris immediately pivoted to Trump.

According to Fox News, Harris responded, “By the way, again, Donald Trump should be here tonight to talk with you and answer your questions. He’s not, he refused to come. But understand that part of his plan is to put in place a national sales tax of at least 20% on everyday goods and necessities, and that, by economist estimates — independent economists — would cost you, as the American consumer and taxpayer, an additional $4,000 a year.”

When pressed on the possibility of codifying Roe v. Wade, Harris once again brought the conversation back to Trump.

Fox News reports that she said, “I think we need to take a look at the filibuster, to be honest with you. But the reality of it is this, let’s talk about how we got here. When Donald Trump was president, he hand-selected three members of the United States Supreme Court with the intention that they would undo the protections of Roe v Wade… And now, in 20 states, we have abortion bans.”

Harris’s strategy is clear: keep the spotlight on Trump. She’s banking on voters focusing so much on the former president that they overlook the troubles in Biden-Harris America. Inflation is sky-high, the borders are overwhelmed, and countless Americans are struggling just to make ends meet.

The fact is, life was better for many Americans under Trump. The Democrats would prefer that people forget that, so they paint Trump as a looming threat, hoping it’ll be enough to keep him out of office.

Yet, recent polls show Harris and Trump neck and neck. If America were as done with Trump as Harris seems to be, she’d be leading by a landslide. Her obsessive focus on Trump isn’t working as planned—and, in the end, it just might cost her the race.
