Donald Trump slammed critical race theory (CRT) during his Tuesday Presidential campaign announcement at Mar-a-Lago.
“Joe Biden has also proven that he is committed to indoctrinating our children, even using the Department of Justice against parents who object.” Trump said. “It is a terrible thing, it is so sad what is happening.”
Trump added, “When I am in the White House, our schools will cease pushing Critical Race Theory as they were, radical civics… or, if they do that, they will lose all federal funding. But we will get them to stop.”
“And I will be the President who finally fixes education in America,” Trump added.
Trump has voiced his opposition to Critical Race Theory in the past. Indeed, Trump created the patriotic “1776 Commission” to fight against woke indoctrination. Trump also banned the teaching of Critical Race Theory in Federal Agencies. As NPR reports:
“The Trump administration has instructed federal agencies to end racial sensitivity trainings that address topics like white privilege and critical race theory, calling them ‘divisive, anti-American propaganda.’…”
The memo read as follows:
“All agencies are directed to begin to identify all contracts or other agency spending related to any training on ‘critical race theory,’ ‘white privilege,’ or any other training or propaganda effort that teaches or suggests either (1) that the United States is an inherently racist or evil country or (2) that any race or ethnicity is inherently racist or evil.”
Trump was ahead of the national conversation in 2020, and he has continued to press the issue at campaign rallies into 2022. Indeed, in 2022, Trump said the following during a rally in Ohio:
“Earlier this year, the Biden administration issued new rules pushing twisted critical race theory into classrooms across the nation, and also into our military. Our generals and our admirals are now focused more on this nonsense than they are on our enemies.”
Wokeness is truly infectious. It is corrupting our nation. Donald Trump knows it has to stop and the American people do as well. We need leaders who will fight against this ideology. The last thing we need is leaders like Joe Biden who promote the disastrous worldview that is Critical Race Theory.
