Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) signed into law a new measure to counteract illegal immigration in the state of Florida — Senate Bill 6B or the Transportation of Inspected Unauthorized Aliens act.
As its name suggests, the bill authorizes the transportation of illegal immigrants. But this bill is unique in that it authorizes planes full of illegal immigrants to be flown to sanctuary cities all over our country.
“To mitigate the effects of this crisis on the State of Florida, the Unauthorized Alien Transport Program is created within the Division of Emergency Management within the Executive Office of the Governor for the purpose of facilitating the transport of inspected unauthorized aliens within the United States, consistent with federal law,” the Bill reads.
Ron DeSantis tweeted Wednesday, “Florida is using all tools available to protect our citizens from Biden’s open border policies. I am glad to have signed legislation to continue the program of transporting illegal aliens to sanctuary jurisdictions. I thank the legislature for maintaining this valuable tool.”
This comes after DeSantis sent two planes full of illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard last year. This was a controversial move at the time, but it showed the lengths DeSantis and Florida Republicans were willing to go to combat illegal immigration. They understand the true effects of illegal immigration on the lives of everyday Floridians.
