On Friday, Vice President Kamala Harris said that she is planning to run for re-election in 2024 alongside President Biden.
Harris’ comments come a few days after a new poll found that only 12% of Democrats want Biden to be the leader of the Democratic party.
Similarly to Biden, Harris has also been very unpopular, with polls showing that she has consistently been the most unpopular vice president in recent decades.
Harris made her comments during an interview with NBC’s Andrea Mitchell.
“Joe Biden… has said he intends to run for re-election as president and I intend to run with him as vice president of the United States,” Harris said. “I think that it is very important to focus on the needs of the American people and not political chatter out of Washington, D.C.”
Harris also addressed her and Biden’s unpopularity by simply dismissing criticism as “political chatter.”
