DeSantis Jokes About White House Cocaine Discovery: ‘Been Blowing It’

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) gave a light-hearted commentary about finding cocaine at the White House, subtly hinting at perceived shortcomings of the Biden administration.

When the Secret Service found a bag of white powder during a routine patrol in the West Wing of the White House, an agent called Washington, D.C., Fire and EMS.

Emergency personnel conducted a preliminary test of the unknown powder and determined the substance to be cocaine hydrochloride, according to a Washington Post report.

The protective detail took no chances after finding the unidentified white powder and, besides activating hazardous materials response, the White House was evacuated. It and nearby areas were closed to the public.

“Precautionary closures were implemented around the White House complex this evening after an unknown item was discovered by Uniformed Division Officers,” Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in a Sunday Twitter post.

DeSantis poked fun at President Biden’s administration during an interview on OutKick’s “Tomi Lahren Is Fearless,” on YouTube.

“I think a lot of us have believed that the Biden administration has been blowing it on a lot of fronts, but I guess it’s a little bit more literal than even I had thought,” DeSantis joked.

The Florida Republican declared cocaine would never be found in his executive mansion because he and his wife have three young children (3-, 5- and 6-years-old) running around the governor’s mansion.

“We do have to occasionally get slime out of the carpet and get marker off the wallpaper, but that’s the extent of our adventures at the Governor’s Mansion,” DeSantis told Lahren.

His comments further fuel the ongoing political conversation on this unexpected incident.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) has officially requested more detailed information from the Secret Service regarding the cocaine discovery, highlighting the seriousness of the situation and potential national security implications.

The ongoing investigation into this incident raises pertinent questions about the security of the White House and the means by which such substances could infiltrate it.
