President Joe Biden’s mental decline appeared to worsen during recent comments at a U.S. veterans town hall.
During his speech, Biden falsely claimed that he’s Italian.
“I married Dominic Giacoppa’s daughter so, you know, I got a little Italian in me now,” Biden said.
There’s just one problem: Biden got his own wife’s genealogy wrong, including her maiden name.
Jill Biden’s father’s name is Donald Jacobs and her maiden name, Giacoppa, is merely an Italianized version of her father’s last name.
Senator Ted Cruz’s advisor, Steve Guest, fact-checked Biden saying that “Giacoppa was actually Jill Biden’s grandfather, not her father.”
CNN and Fox News have confirmed that Jill Biden’s great-grandfather was named Giacoppa and had Italian roots.
Biden is also under fire after using an ethnic-related slur during the town hall address.

Prominent Irish public figures have responded by saying Biden’s comments were “insulting.”
When asked about how he feels about the anti-Irish phrase, popular Irish businessman Eoghan McCabe responded, “Irishman here. I feel neutral because I think he actually is stupid.”
